The country's monetary unit is the quetzal, named after the quetzal bird, the symbol of Guatemala.
The obverse shows the effigy of Bishop Francisco Marroquín. The reverse shows the inner part of the building of the Universidad de San Carlos de Borromeo. A banknote of the Banco de Guatemala.
The quetzal is collected by denomination, design year, signature and substrate variety. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
Other paper money items from the same country or on the same theme are in the VPcoins catalogue.
